OF CRITICS, BATTLESTAR, AND SYFY

Get this: The "Television Critics Association" has awarded the 2009 grand prize to Battlestar Galactica. All I can add is this group's standards are pretty low, considering they are already rating an arena made for limbo dancing.

Battlestar Galactica is listed as playing on "Syfy". What, as in syphilis? For some reason I don't think most fans of that show risk contracting a venereal disease.

The story...

With almost no exceptions, those are technical or "dedictated" (SF, in this case) awards.

Rob Salem of the Toronto Star did a write-up the other day on BG and mentioned the fact that the Emmys have ingored the show, save two technical awardings.

Anyway, awards don't mean anything to me at all; so it's not as though I am really arguing any points outside of stating the obvious.
