OTTO PREMINGER RETROSPECTIVE

680 News (CFTR) just had a news bit about Cinematheque (a screening series at Jackman Hall at the Art Gallery of Ontario, here in Toronto) playing an upcoming retrospective on film director Otto Preminger. The programme, titled "Fallen Angels", runs from May 29th - June 2nd.

This I'm really looking forward to. Sadly I missed their screening of the notorious Saint Joan this spring, and they have no desire to rerun it for the Preminger retrospective. Too bad. However, I've always had a soft spot for River of No Return, which I'd love to see in its correct widescreen format. People often refer to Bus Stop or The Misfits as films where Marilyn Monroe really proved she could act, but I cite this earlier film instead.
